Melvina Masterminds is an organization empowering students in the arts. In September 2019, they partnered with entertainer Hannibal Buress to host a charity comedy show at the famed Chicago Theatre.
The process behind this design was a fun exploration in photo editing where I merged photography with colorful overlays and layers of vintage textures. By adding in handwritten bits, I’m able to break up the text and establish a visual hierarchy that highlights important details, like appearances by Lil Rel Howery and Vic Mensa, more clearly.")

Cover art and complete interior design for a collection of poems written by sailor-turned-poet Duff Dryja. He pulls from his experiences at sea to offer the reader thoughtful poems that both critique and celebrate love.
Each poem in the book is paired with a photograph taken by the author: shots of oceans, sailboats, sunsets and aquatic wildlife compliment every verse. I designed these images to look like they were torn from scrapbooks and journals and glued into the pages of this book. The cover art supports this same aesthetic, combining multiple photos and textures to shape a vibrant interpretation of Duff’s words.

Sleeping Babys’ latest single “Nostalgic” tells the story of two friends who continually romanticize the past because of their inability to acclimate to modern society.
The artwork started out as an exploration in surrealism mixed with collage and needed to be as grandiose as the 18th century Queen used on the cover. I thought Marie Antoinette’s out of touch reputation was the perfect way to rationalize the song's lyrics with the band’s whimsical style, trading roses for cotton candy and French panniers for a medusa piercing.")

Legend has it some surfers pray for good waves… others just pray for good food!
In Huntington Beach, California, where surf culture reigns supreme, this client wanted a logo for his restaurant that was befitting of the protective community of talented men and women who call the ocean home.
Derived from surf lingo, “Maja” meaning mother, is a term of affection often used within this community. The objective was to design a wordmark that represented the free spirit of the bad-asses who meet out in the water each day while also making sense for a professional restaurant establishment. The custom, hand-written design with unpredictable characters and wild movement was born out of the desire to appeal to local surfers as well as anyone else who may have a fiery hunger for authentic Mexican food!
This handmade logo also features multiple variations including a version paying homage to the famed Huntington Beach lifeguard towers.")

In late 2017 and early 2018, I was commissioned for a series of product labels for a limited run of wines under the Disorderly Conduct banner. Available in three varieties – cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and pinotage – these designs are delightfully chaotic.
Already distinguished by three bold color stories, I used riot imagery, grungy halftone textures and carefully placed ransom letter clippings to further capture the audacious spirit of the brand and define a unique experience for each drink.")
